Skye Fishers' Odyssey Continues

© CSI Photo

Skye Fisher finished sixth in her Fitness Class at the 2009 Arnold Amateur Fitness competition in Columbus, Ohio. After placing 4th in the Fitness Short Class at the 2009 NPC Junior Nationals Championships during June in Chicago, Skye Fisher decided her year was just not complete. She wanted to try one more competition, with that being her first national figure competition at the 2009 NPC National Bodybuilding, Figure & Bikini Championships, to be held November 20-21 at the Westin Diplomat Resort in Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. "My boyfriend and I wanted to do a show together, so I encouraged him after he placed 4th at Collegiate Nationals, that we should do one more together. It has made my prep a lot more fun."

Skye recently signed her sponsorship contract with the Muscle Mafia and was the guest trophy presenter at the Tri-State Bodybuilding, Figure, and Bikini championships in Erie, Pennsylvania. Skye will also be a guest for IFFB Pro Tricky Jackson and Jose Raymond on their blog radio show, Pro Muscle Radio, November 15th at 6:30pm. Listen for all her current updates on training and more info on other competitors getting ready for nationals.

Michigan Bodybuilding had the privilege earlier this year to report on Skye Fisher's impressive background in gymnastics, varsity and collegiate sports. An alumna of Central Michigan State University, Skye Fisher is employed with the Gerald R. Ford Job Corps Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, teaching young people the skills they need to become employable and independent while placing them in meaningful jobs or further education. Skye is a little over 5 feet 1 inch with a competition weight of 115 pounds. She has recently prepared for her presentation, explaining "I have also had the excellent opportunity to work on my posing with Ms.Olympia 2009, Nicole Wilkins. She was so sweet and really improved my posing for my upcoming show." The greatest part of Skye's stature and presentation is her heart. Her odyssey continues.

Supplements That May Contain Steroids Recalled

BODYBUILDING.COM Is Conducting a Voluntary Nationwide and International Recall of 65 Dietary Supplements That May Contain Steroids

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Boise, ID - November 3, 2009 – As part of its ongoing cooperation with the Food and Drug Administration ("FDA"), Bodybuilding.com, LLC (the “Company") announced today that it is conducting a voluntary nationwide and international recall of all lots and expiration dates of 65 dietary supplement products (the "Recalled Products") described on the attached list, that were sold through the Company's website, www.bodybuilding.com.

The FDA has informed the Company that it believes that the Recalled Products contain ingredients that are steroids. Specifically, the FDA has advised the Company of its concern that the Recalled Products may contain the following ingredients that are currently classified, or the FDA believes should be classified, as steroids: "Superdrol," "Madol," "Tren," "Androstenedione," and/or "Turinabol." While the Company has not had an opportunity to independently confirm the FDA's concerns that the Recalled Products in fact contain these ingredients, the Company is undertaking this voluntary recall in an abundance of caution.

Acute liver injury is known to be a possible harmful effect of using steroid-containing products. In addition, steroids may cause other serious long-term adverse health consequences in men, women, and children. These include shrinkage of the testes and male infertility, masculinization of women, breast enlargement in males, short stature in children, a higher predilection to misuse other drugs and alcohol, adverse effects on blood lipid levels, and increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and death.

The Company has not received to date any reports of adverse events in connection with the Recalled Products. Because of the possible harmful effects of using products containing steroids, the Company is cooperating with the FDA to conduct a recall of the products the FDA has identified as containing steroids. Prior to agreeing to carry the Recalled Products, the Company received assurances from all of the manufacturers of the Recalled Products that these products were properly classified as dietary supplements in compliance with federal law, meaning that these products did not contain any unlawful ingredient. Customers who have any of the Recalled Products in their possession should stop using them immediately and contact their physician if they have experienced any problems that may be related to taking one or more of the ingredients listed above.

Any adverse events that may be related to the use of the Recalled Products should be reported to the FDA's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program online [at www.fda.gov/MedWatch/report.htm], by phone [1-800-FDA-1088], or by returning the postagepaid FDA form 3500 [which may be downloaded from www.fda.gov/MedWatch/getforms.htm] by mail [to MedWatch, 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD 20852-9787] or fax [1-800-FDA- 0178].

The Company is committed to providing accurate information about its products. The Company is working voluntarily with the FDA in this recall process.

Consumers should return any unused products purchased on the Company’s site to the Company. For instructions on how to return Recalled Products please call (1-866-236-8417) or e-mail (service@bodybuilding.com) the Company.

Do the Monster Mash on Halloween

The 12th annual NPC
Monster Mash Natural
Bodybuilding, Figure & Bikini Championships
NEXT WEEK
on Halloween Day, October 31
This is the last show in Ohio for 2009!
The response to the show so far is the best in the
12 year history of the Mash, so we are looking forward to a great fierce competition as well as a great time!
Please note - the show is starting a little earlier this year at 6:30PM. If you are going to get tickets at the show we recommend that you get to the theatre early since it has been a sell out every year for the past 6 years.

Communication Among Friends and Colleagues

ClackPoint (appearing at the bottom of the page) provides virtual rooms supporting video, audio and text communication among friends and colleagues. Simply pick your own room number and enter via one of the supported services! No need to all sign up to the same IM service, or to be near a phone — ClackPoint will connect you however you choose:

  1. Pick a room number and share it with your chosen attendees

  2. Each attendee enters the room however they choose:
Telephone icon dial one of our telephone access numbers and enter your room number when prompted; or Web icon enter your room number on our web page at clackpoint.com, or navigate directly to clackpoint.com/your-room-number; or Instant messaging icon add the ClackPoint contact in your favourite IM client, start a chat with them and send the message .enter your-room-number

  3. To leave the room, simply hangup, navigate away from the page, or send .leave

    1. While ClackPoint is in beta, certain restrictions on room use will apply. In particular note that all rooms are also currently unlocked — we recommend that you choose a room number long enough to be sufficiently “unguessable” for your privacy requirements.

ClackPoint collaboration spaces connect room members with text and audio from any supported service for free, subject to any call charges made by your telephony provider when you dial our number. While in beta, we limit the number of room members with audio to 5 and rooms are time-limited to 2 hours. Basic room control is provided through a command interface and room features include automatic speaker detection, directed messaging, roster support, member-driven floor control, and user actions.
